I don’t feel like I have much to add to the subject of wine regions. They are invariably picturesque. You hardly ever see some ugly concrete parking garage next to a winery. Grapes are very picky about their views.
The fact is, I know next to nothing about wine. This makes wine tasting very simple. I either like it or I don’t. But the food is always of a high standard in wine country, which is a real draw for me.
I enjoyed Stellenbosch more than the average wine region, which is saying a lot because I enjoy all wine regions at a very high level. Maybe it’s the distant view of Table Mountain. Maybe it’s the reasonable prices. Maybe it was the last day of the honeymoon and we were holding onto every moment like it was our last. And as far as honeymoons go, it was.
