The Norwegian Rail service is clearly run by the parent of a toddler. How else to explain to the orange padded room in the Family car?
While parents enjoy the view from Oslo to Bergen, one of the most beautiful rail journeys in the world, through lakes, mountains and eventually down though the fjords, kids can perch themselves on stacked cushions and press their noses to the window. While parents check their email and post to Instagram using the free Wi-Fi, kids can read books and watch cartoons. While parents avail themselves of cheap coffee refills in the cafe car, kids can climb ladders and crawl through tunnels with their new Norwegian friends.
So while that covers the wonders inside the train (UNESCO take note), here’s what was happening outside while the child was thus occupied…
